Ok I am not one for long reports so the bullets are:
Chose a silly spot to start and got pummelled… Enjoyed the last 300m when I got some space and relaxed into the swim. Definitely needed a second lap to maximise time on my favourite discipline.
And relax… perhaps over 4mins was too extreme. As is the fashion I managed to start the bike section on my watch soon after arriving in transition.
Really enjoyed the course, great marshalling, and the hills were where I guessed they would be. Only overtaken by 203 people. Chuffed by an average over 17mph. Having a completely loose shifter by the end didn’t seem to slow me much though I am not sure how I ended up heading to transition with one shoe in my hand and one in the cleats.
I overtook 6 people. 🙂
Had a good start to the run but out on the dam it felt hard, too hard. That set the precedent for the whole route. Sun 1 Head 0. Picked up every time I went past the ETC massive #proud, and by my chat with Sandie towards the end #motivational.
Total 6:14:56. #trainmore
