The 2022 Ely Tri Club Runfest is still on for this Sunday, 25th September, with the 10k race kicking off at 11am. In light of the Sandringham 10K postponement, we have extended the deadline for online entries to 10pm on the evening of Wednesday 21st September, so nobody has to miss out and waste all that training. Plus, we’re offering cash prizes to the first three male and female finishers in all four races available – 10k, HM, Marathon and Ultra - 1st (£50), 2nd (£30), 3rd (£15) plus Trophy.
See entry details, locations, logistics and course information at the Ely Tri Club website or head over to our Facebook page. Alternatively, you can go right ahead and book your place with Total Race Timing here.
Starting and finishing at the iconic 11th century cathedral, the races take in more of the beautiful historic city of Ely before heading into the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Most of the course involves quiet, traffic free paths along the the banks of the rivers Great Ouse and Cam and their adjacent fens (there’s only one short, gentle climb through Cherry Hill Park in the entire race). Those running the marathon and ultra get the added bonus of a trip through the Wicken Fen nature reserve.
This is a low key, friendly event which welcomes adult runners of all ages and abilities. With a few obstacles (steps, stiles, cattle grids etc) along the way, the routes are perhaps better tailored for adventure, fun and stamina rather than PBs. But whatever your pace or goal there’ll be plenty of food/drink stations and enthusiastic marshal support throughout.
It’s a great way to welcome Autumn in style and replicate the Sandringham 10K in the process! Book your place here.
